This private Taupō accommodation is the perfect destination to base yourselves; not only to be at the centre of all the events and activities the Taupo district has to offer; but the surrounding districts too... as many guests underestimate just how much there is to do just here in Taupō.

Taupō is located 1172 feet/357m above sea level up on the plateau in the middle of the North Island, about halfway between Auckland and Wellington; with connecting flights to these main centers only a 60-minute flight away. FREE Airport (TUO) and bus transfers are available upon request.

A convenient 45-minute drive (NE) from Taupō is "Orakei-Karako Thermal Wonderland", 60 minutes to Rotorua and 90 minutes to Hobbiton; or (S) to the world famous "Tongariro Alpine Crossing" (New Zealand's most popular one day walk), ski fields, Chateau and "Sky-Waka". A 2-hour drive (SE) are the wine trails of Napier (the Art Deco Capital) and Hastings; or (NW) to the famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves; with the Pureora State Forrest just a 10-15 minute side trip on the way; which at dawn is just magical.
